Abstract Objectives: Organ transplant is a complex process that involves various medical, legal, and social factors. The organ demand continues to outweigh the supply, leading to global challenges in the expansion of transplant programs. Ischemic time is crucial for the viability of organs, and efforts are being made to reduce transport time to improve transplant success rates. The viability and quality of the organ for transplant depends on minimized ischemic time.

Health-related quality of life (HRQOL) improved after successful kidney transplantation compared to dialysis patients, despite kidney transplant patients suffering the effect of using immunosuppressive medicine and being subject to infectious complications and tumors. This study shows that we have reached the primary goal of transplantation, which is to improve the HRQOL of kidney recipients.

Association between red blood cell distribution width and the Prognosis of Brain Death in Patients with a Glasgow Coma Scale <6

Association between red blood cell distribution width and the Prognosis of Brain Death in Patients with a Glasgow Coma Scale <6

Red blood cell distribution width (RDW)biomarker is a simple and inexpensive laboratory test that may be seen as a valuable perspective for initial patient evaluation. RDW is a powerful marker for the prognosis of brain death in patients with a GCS ≤ 6 at admission time, in order to identify a subset of patients who may require more aggressive management in the trauma center

The consent rate and donor management in the cases of brain death is unacceptable. The coordinators need the training to increase their efficiency in terms of family approach and maintenance of brain death. Only by improving the level of family consent and increasing the coordinators' maintenance skills for brain death cases, the amount of organ donation in Iran can be doubled to the current amount.

The impact of heparin therapy in deceased donors on early graft survival of kidney and liver recipients: A clinical trial study This study aimed to compare the effect of heparin therapy as a therapeutic dose after brain death confirmation on early graft survival of kidney and liver recipients. A total of 71 brain death donors and matched kidney and liver transplants were included in the case group. 43 brain death donors and matched kidney and matched liver transplants were included in the control group.

Investigation of the relationship between RDW and Prognosis of brain death

Investigation of the relationship between RDW and Prognosis of brain death

We conducted this study with the aim of evaluating the predictive value of RDW in brain dead. A retrospective study of brain death cases during 36 months were evaluated at University Hospitals, affiliated with two main Organ procurement units in Iran. The baseline information included demographic data (age, sex, BMI), cause of brain death, and laboratory results (Red blood cell distribution, Mean Corpuscular Volume, Hemoglobin collected by checklists. The mean age of brain death cases was 32.65

The effect of COVID 19 vaccination on kidney recipients

The effect of COVID 19 vaccination on kidney recipients Background: Nearly one year from the onset of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic, safe and effective vaccines began distribution around the world. This study aimed to assess the rate of COVID-19 disease among vaccinated kidney transplant patients and the types of symptoms found within them. As a sample size, 159 cadavers' kidney recipients received two doses of the Sinopharm SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. Results: The mean age of the vaccinated participants was 49.44

The outcome of marginal hearts compared with ideal donors: A single center experience from Iran Introduction: Heart transplantation has been considered as gold standard treatment for patients with end-stage heart failure. This study aimed to assess the survival outcome of marginal donor hearts compared with ideal donors in Iran. Among 93 participants, 75 were categorized as ideal donors (Group A) and 18 were marginal donors (Group B). To observe possible differences among patient
